Overweight and obesity are the result of the formation of abnormal or excessive fat deposits, which can be harmful to health and are risk factors for a number of other diseases, including type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). During the pathogenesis of overweight and obesity, structural changes in adipose tissue occur (hypertrophy and hyperplasia of adipocytes, the development of chronic inflammation) and a violation of the secretory (hormonal) function of adipocytes. Symptoms such as increased blood pressure (BP), headaches, increased sweating, shortness of breath during exercise and at rest, snoring during sleep, menstrual irregularities, decreased potency, etc. are caused by diseases associated with overweight and obesity.
