Dermatology Consultation
Service Description
Features of the initial dermatology consultation: 1. Medical History Review: The dermatologist will ask about your current skin concerns, including when they started, any symptoms you're experiencing, and what treatments you've tried previously. They will also inquire about your overall medical history, including any allergies, medications, and past or current skin conditions. 2. Physical Examination: The dermatologist will examine your skin thoroughly, looking for any abnormalities or signs of concern. They may use a dermatoscope (a magnifying glass with a light) to get a closer look at any areas of interest. Depending on the situation, they may also examine your hair and nails. You may be asked to undress to a gown to allow for a full-body examination. 3. Diagnosis and Treatment Plan: After reviewing your history and performing the examination, the dermatologist will discuss their findings and provide a diagnosis (if possible). They will explain the potential causes of your skin condition and discuss various treatment options, which may include medications (creams, ointments, or pills), procedures (like biopsies or laser treatments), or lifestyle changes. They will answer any questions you have and help you understand the best course of action for your specific situation.
